Festival InformationThis years two day outdoor experience will showcase the rich diversity of the plants, animals, birds, geological formations and history in southcentral Oklahoma. This festival is a smorgasbord of informational and educational field trips and workshops to choose from which celebrate the diversity of Oklahoma’s natural environments.
Who should come? Your readers! Birders, bikers, hikers, wildlifers, ecologists/biologist, artists, photographers, researchers, students, teachers, conservationist, artists, wannabees, gonnabees, young or old, there is something for everyone from the casual nature enthusiast to the most experienced naturalist!
Why should you come? This unique program of field trips lead by expert guides and informative seminars will ultimately provide participants opportunities to explore a wide range of topics to celebrate the wonders of the Arbuckle-Simpson area of Oklahoma.
Join others nature lovers who share your interest in being exposed to the diversity of nature in South-central Oklahoma. This year, the festival will include unique opportunities through field trips, hands-on clinics and expert presentations on a variety of subjects and geographic landscapes including Pontotoc Ridge, Blue River and some of the beautiful geological treasures of Pennington Creek. Program options include bird banding, Outdoor Art class, Butterfly Photography, Birding by Ear and more! We will even have a workshop for Ultra Light fishing on the Blue River.
The Friday and Saturday evening dinners include presentations by keynote speakers who are experts in their fields of study. On Saturday night there is also the announcement of the recipient of the Bill Pennington Conservation Award. Please make plans to attend!
Registration and information
We have three options for registering this year: You can navigate to our "Registration" page and fill out the on-line form which can be saved and sent to our email address This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or simply print it out and send it by postal mail to P.O. Box 411, Tishomingo, Ok 73460 along with payment. Make all checks payable to ASNF.
Another option is to fax your registration to (580) 272-2077 then you may pay when you sign in. This year you have the options of "paying the day of the event at check in" or choose the "Paypal please send invoice" option and you will be sent an invoice for online payment just like last year giving you the option of paying with PayPal or a credit card. The third option is to go to our online registration store and select the events or outings you want and pay with PayPal only.
Of course if we still have room in our individual events, we will always accept walk-in registrations on the day of that particular event.
The Geological tour at Pennington Ranch will have a new limit of 30 participants on a first come first serve basis.
The Bird Banding Saturday morning has a limit of 22 on a first come first serve basis.
